BACK TO BASICS
Introduction
Welcome to Back to Basics Nutritional Therapy and Education.
I am Sarah and I am a nutritional therapist specialising in mental health. I am passionate about the effect that diet has on our emotional wellbeing. I use a science-based approach, working with individuals to establish achievable, lifelong dietary habits to improve their overall health with a particular focus on their mental health.
I believe that good nutrition should be for everyone. I promote sustainable and affordable eating without compromising on health, with a focus on simplicity. I aim to educate people how to use basic ingredients to build balanced, nutritious and tasty meals.
About Me
I started my adult life as a solicitor in the City of London. Despite enjoying aspects of the job, my heart was never fully in it. I have always been passionate about good food – both cooking it and eating it – together with being conscious of the effects that eating well can have on my mood and physical wellbeing.
After having children, I took a break from Law to go back to college and retrain as a Nutritional Therapist, qualifying with a diploma in Nutritional Therapy from the College of Naturopathic Medicine, London in 2017.
Whilst studying I developed a particular interest in the role of nutrition in mental health, an interest that I have continued to develop and study in depth post qualification.
We are overwhelmed with, often contradictory, information about what to eat, when and why, so it is no wonder that people feel confused. My aim is to educate individuals about the fundamental principle of nutrition: no fads, just achievable, healthy eating.
